Acrylic teeth, painting and fabric pants by Legacy Effects. 3D printed on Objet at Legacy Effects. SIGGRAPH is the digital entertainment industry's most exciting tradeshow of the year. Held at the Los Angeles Convention Center in California on August 7-9, Objet will be exhibiting and presenting throughout the week. Jason Lopes, Senior Technician with Legacy Effects Studio, will be giving a short presentation on Wednesday, August 8th at 10:00am in room 301B. The presentation will show how 3D printing has benefited Hollywood – with particular emphasis on the creation of special effects. Jason is an expert presenter and an industry leader in rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing, so if you have a chance, make sure to attend! When and Where: In the meantime I leave you with some of his latest Objet 3D printed creations. These are 3D printed models created on Legacy Effect’s own Objet system, with post-painting. If you don’t recognize them (!) these were created for the 2012 blockbuster films The Avengers and the fantasy adventure, John Carter:
